Welcome to the website of the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. Our site
is designed to provide you information relating to ovarian cancer, as well as information on resources to
assist you and information on events and activities of our Chapter of the NOCC.
Although ovarian cancer is a relatively rare disease, it touches many lives - husbands, children, parents,
brothers, sisters, friends. Unfortunately, due to its subtle symptoms and rarity, most women know little or
nothing about ovarian cancer. Whether you already have ovarian cancer, know someone who does, or have been fortunate thus far to not be touched by this disease, knowledge about the disease is a powerful tool for you. We encourage all women to learn about this disease, and to tell their friends and family and co-workers.
Due to the almost silent nature of its symptoms, it is said that ovarian cancer whispers. This makes it all the more important for all of us to know what to listen for and how to listen.
If you, or someone you know, is uncertain about how to start a conversation with your
doctor about ovarian cancer, you can download a Conversation Starter
sheet here in either Word Format or Adobe pdf Format.
You can also download an Ovarian Cancer Fact Sheet in either Word Format or Adobe pdf Format.
We are very proud to be a part of the NOCC national campaign entitled
Break the Silence. Nationwide the NOCC and its chapters
are taking part in a concerted effort to spread awareness about ovarian cancer. Please join us
in speaking out about ovarian cancer - we can all make a difference in
Breaking the Silence.
The NOCC is very, very proud to have as its celebrity spokesperson Eva LaRue. A recent
meeting was held with the NOCC CEO, Jane Langridge (far left), Eva LaRue (middle), and our very own Dianne Blankenstein
(second from the right for those who don't know Dianne).
Dianne was one of the survivors chosen to meet with Eva LaRue and made a tremendous impression on her. Way to go Dianne!!!
