We welcome participation of men and women in the DFW Chapter of the NOCC (or your local chapter if you are not in the DFW area). Whether you have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, have a friend or loved one who was diagnosed, or simply want to be a part of making a difference, YOU ARE WELCOME HERE.
There are many opportunities within the DFW-NOCC for volunteering. You can help out with health fairs, meetings,
preparing brochures and mailings, and volunteering at our annual events such as the annual 5K Fun Run/Walk.
You can also join our e-groups to receive regular emails, chat groups, etc relating to ovarian cancer. This is a wonderful way to stay informed and meet others. To sign up, contact volunteers@dfwovarian.org.
We need volunteers to help with distribution of event information to local hospitals and OB-GYN offices,
stuffing mailers, etc. We also need volunteers to help staff tables/booths at area health fairs (we take into account
what areas of the metroplex are convenient for the volunteers). Volunteers are contacted by email whenever a need for assistance arises.
Any who are available at that particular time and want to help can respond by email to sign
up for that particular event. There is no commitment to a particular amount of time - it is just a way to
let us know you are available to help!
If you would be interested in signing up as one of our volunteers, there are several ways to do so:
Be an advocate for women's health - educate your friends, family, and co-workers about ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer whispers - so it is up to each of us to spread the word! We can also provide presentations to groups (such as at your office, a church group, club gathering, etc) regarding ovarian cancer. If you are interested in a presentation being done, contact presentations@dfwovarian.org.
